FMY&SD to Begin Zonal Secondary School Basketball Competition

In buy to initiate grassroots basketball development in Nigeria and give possibilities to youthful and gifted youth, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Advancement (FMY&SD) has concluded plans to begin a zonal youth basketball championship across the 6 geo- political zones in the state.

Sporting activities Minister, Sunday Dare, said on a national tv that the Ministry, by means of its Grassroots Division will leverage on its six zonal coordinators to get started a 3-4 months basketball competitiveness among secondary schools starting up in June. 

He  revealed that two representatives are anticipated to arise from every zone. The twelve teams will then arrive to Abuja or Lagos for a a single week championship. 

Resources in the Ministry stated the grassroots development task will very likely be tagged Basketball Youth Expertise Hunt and it is predicted to ignite developmental attempts in basketball.
