Newcastle’s Bet on Maximin Continues to Pay Off

Saint-Maximin outlines his future plans and who he wants Newcastle to sign in summer transfer window | Goal.com

The young left-back from France is making Premier League love the French once again by achieving a prestigious goal of the month award. His incredible skills on the flanks and the ability to appear from seemingly nowhere terrify opponents and make him a very valuable player in the Newcastle United squad. This award is well-deserved although Liverpool pushed hard for Luis Diaz’s impressive score against Crystal Palace.

Allan Saint-Maximin impresses the crowd

When the young player first appeared on the field with the Saint-Etienne roster, many people started following his career. The French manage to outplay their opponents with ease and often create acute offensive pushes that check goalies and cause panic among defensive formations that face him. His career continued with the move to Monaco from where he was loaned to Hannover. Then, Bastia.

These constant switching of teams was quite nerve-wracking with many fans wondering why such a promising talent never sees real play in better teams. These conversations came to an abrupt end when he signed with Nice in August of 2017.

Two years later, he started wearing his, now iconic, Newcastle United uniform and started showing his amazing skills on the field. With his immense pressure on the flanks, Maximin regularly tests left-side defenders and creates valuable opportunities for his teammates. The player regularly receives praise from both his coaches and fans.

Looks like, Newcastle made the right call when they decided to get their hands on a talented left-back from Nice.

The player is on many radars

Chelsea, Tottenham, and The Athletic have been eyeing the possibility of adding Maximin to their rosters. At the beginning of this season, the Spurs were especially interested, but their transfer season was way too hot to spread attention thinly and trying to get Maximin alongside Richarlison, Spence, Bissouma, and Perisic.

Newcastle United picked up Allan Saint-Maximin in August 2019. At the time, the signing of Jetro Willems was a much bigger deal. Now, the situation is slightly different. Maximin seems to be getting an even better shape and may prove that he is worth more than many clubs think.
